New Season...
So, the new season of American Idol has started. Who's watching? Do you watch from the very first airing with all the dorky people who think they can sing and really sound like a drowning hyena? Or do you wait until they get to Hollywood... which is right now. If so... do you watch from round 1 or wait until round 2? Or, do you just wait until they have the final 24?
I usually start watching from the first airing, but not this season. I just couldn't handle it. *G* So, I just started watching since Hollywood and that seems to be working out well for me. I don't have to put up with the horrible contestants, but rather just the good ones who should be there. So, this is all good. I haven't picked out a favorite yet, though the guy with the punk-rocker hair is pretty good. We'll see how it all plays out.
Do you have any faves yet? IMO Bikini Girl should already be gone, but for some reason... she's not. Pfffft.
Thoughts!??

American Idol... Rant or Not? We'll See...
It's 8:18 p.m. CDT and I'm watching American Idol. I want to say this before we get the final results because otherwise it can be deemed as biased (whatever, LOL).
First... How Jason Castro is safe is beyond me. What the hell are you thinking, America? Seriously, get some taste in music or something because, dude, serious WTF moment.
With Jason and David A. safe all I can think to say is... Parents! Take the cell phones away from the little teenie bopper girls! They're creating chaos and mayhem. NOW! Jason should have been gone already, way before Michael Johns and Carly. Gah!!!
Now, we'll see what happens...
Okay... it was Brooke, and honestly I don't like her singing much, but Jason Castro should have been the one because TWO weeks in a row he sucked the big one. But, that's American Idol.
Next week will it be Syesha? Or will the parents take the cell phones away from the screaming fangirls so Jason Castro finally leaves?
ADDENDUM: A little birdie pointed me to this. Dude... Whaaa? *eyeballs bugged out* FREAK.

American Idol... DUDE!
I totally dig David Cook. He is amazing. I don't know if I want him to win American Idol though, because then he can't do his own thing. Know what? I love him as much as I love Daughtry. Yeah, that's saying a lot. David Cook could sing the alphabet and I'd love it. Dig him. Totally.
Jason Castro did great tonight. Very nice.
Kristy Lee Cook- Loved it. I thought she did GREAT... much better than I expected.
Syesha- Great. Nicely done. Not outstanding, but very nice.
Brooke- Dear God, gag me, stab me in the eye with a flaming hot poker. Horrid.
Carly- Dude, you should have nailed that song. You screamed and yelled instead of sang and ruined it. You are capable of making that song fab and you didn't do it. I'm with Simon... disappointed.
David A- Dude, you are so a Christian/gospel singer. I can't imagine you making it mainstream or pop, but I think you'd be HUGELY successful doing Christian/gospel music.
Bottom three to me? Carly, Brooke, and David A.
Who do I think will be in the bottom three? Carly, Brooke, and Kristy.
Who should go home? Brooke.

American Idol
American Idol sucked this week. Another week of Beatles songs was a mistake, the judges thought people sucked who I thought did well and vice versa (Simon mostly), and it was just so horrid that I can't be arsed to go into the details like I normally do.
Sorry, not good enough. *said in Simon's accent*
Who do I think will leave? Kristy, Syesha, or Chikezie.
Who do I think should leave? Kristy.
We'll see.

American Idol... Top 12
So, this week was interesting. There is so much natural talent this season... it's freaking awesome.
Sayesha- Well, it was okay. Just okay. She needs to dare to be different if she wants to hang around a while longer.
Chikezie- Holy smokes! Anyone else shocked and pleasantly surprised? He was awesome!
Ramiele- Her voice is awesome, but like Sayesha, she's got to turn it up or she's gonna be gone soon and that's a shame because if she were just to let herself go, she'd be up in the top 5.
Jason Castro- Eh. He needed a different song. Just okay.
Carly- The woman rocked it up! Right song, right on cue, fabulous.
David Cook- Dude! Best of the night by far. He impressed the hell out of me! Loved it!
Michael Johns- Oh man, does anyone else think he's hot? I felt it. Very nice.
Amanda- I make no bones about the fact that I don't like her, but this week? Holy freaking crap she was awesome! Loved it! Loved it!
Brooke- Sigh... while I don't normally like her, I must admit that I thought she did a great job this week. She's just too toned down for me... but she did a hellagood job. ![]()

David Hernandez- What the hell, man? Is this freaking Broadway? Are we trying to re-enact the hideousness that was Taylor Hicks? *shudder*. He freaked me out and he sucked. Bottom 2 all the way.
Kristy- GAH! Horrifying! Nuff said. Me thinks she's leaving.
David Archuleta - Dude! You forgot the words to a Beatles song! What the hell man? I knew them and I'm not a Beatles fan! Totally not his best, actually his worst, but all the little girlies will vote enough to keep him in.
Thoughts? Agree? Disagree?

American Idol... SPOILER
Looks like I was right... mostly... and thankfully so.
SPOILER AHEAD SO IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET OR DON'T WANT TO KNOW FOR SOME REASON, STOP READING HERE.
Who left?
Danny.
Luke.
Asia'h.
Kady.
Honestly? I was surprised at Danny leaving. I was expecting it to be Chikezie. Next I want Amanda to go. She's too one-dimensional.
Just my opinion... THOUGHTS?

American Idol... My Thoughts & Junk
It was 80s week! One would think that meant there'd have been some awesomeness sung by way of rock and pop... but, alas, it was not so, but rather much gloominess with sad/slow songs/ballads. Le sigh. I wanted some upbeat fun. Anyway...
Luke sucked. I mean really, really sucked this week. While he looks much like Orlando Bloom, his hottie-ness isn't going to keep him there to make the top 12 I'm afraid.
David Archuletta- He's young, he can sing, and all the girlies are hot for him. This wasn't his best week, and I do agree with Simon that he's clinging to the sad songs too much. Let's hope next week he turns it up a bit. He's amazing.
Chikezie- He was good. He reminds me somewhat of Luther Vandross, but he's lacking that little extra something-something to make him as good. Will he make the top 12? Hard to say.
Danny- Well, he did better than last week. He's a good singer, but I think he'd do better on Broadway where he could act as well as sing. Just my opinion.
David Cook- Rock it up, baby! He showed his skill, that's for sure. I thought he was the best of the night. While he's not the best looking guy around, he's got charisma and spark and all that it takes to be a star.
David Hernandez- Did you know he used to be a stripper? Yep, my friend Cindy told me. It explains a lot to me--why he thinks he's hotter than he really is. He's alright looking and he's a good singer and he is one of the three I think are in danger.
Jason Castro- Amie totally digs him. He's a different kind of singer than I generally like, but he IS good. I'm pretty sure he's safe tonight.
Michael Johns- Aussie hottie. He made the song his own and it worked. Not his best, but it was good.
The girls...
Syesha- Like Simon, I wasn't at all surprised by her song choice. She pulled off an upbeat Whitney Houston song and she did it very, very well. She hit the high note.
Ramiele- I love this girl. Such a petite little thing with such a huge voice. I agree with Randy that she hesitates, and with her voice as big as it is now, wait til she lets it all hang out!
Kristy Lee Cook- She hasn't found the right song. She did Journey proud with that song though, I must say. I was expecting it to be icky, but I totally dug it. (Not sure what my fascination is lately with the word "dig"... so, sorry.)
Kady Malloy- Stab me in the eye with a hot poker. If they tell Daughtry and others in the past they shouldn't sing a not-so-popular song, then why on Earth would you choose to do the same darn thing? It didn't help her but rather hurt her. I think it may be her turn to leave, though she should have been gone last week instead of Alaina. We'll see.
Carly- What's to say? She's the best! Honestly, I couldn't remember the song, but it didn't matter. She rocked it up with style.
Brooke- Sigh. Not my style, and I, personally, didn't like her version of the song. No one can sing it up like Pat Benetar... except I can see Carly doing it... not Brooke. Bottom 2? *hopes*
Asia'h- Again, not my style. She can sing, it's just the tone of her voice that bothers me. She didn't hit the high Whitney note and I don't know why she'd even try that song. Seriously. Her voice is not big enough for that. Bottom 2?
Amanda- She did good. The dancing not so good, but she sang the song well. I think she'll stick around... maybe.
MY THOUGHTS:
Bottom 4 for boys- Luke, Danny, David Hernandez, and Chikezie.
Bottom 4 for girls- Kady, Asia'h, Brooke, and Amanda.
We'll find out in a couple hours if I'm right or totally off my ass. :-)

American Idol Recap... (just for you Gail) :-)
Well, to say those results were a shock would be an understatement. I totally wasn't expect the girls that left to be the ones to leave.
I'm way bummed that Alexandrea left. I really liked her, but I think she'll get a deal. I thought for sure Amanda would leave because she really, really sucked big time... and I do NOT like her. Her voice annoys me.
I'm also bummed that Alaina left. Dude, she's way better than Kady. Kady is a poser, honestly. She's nothing but a Britney Spears wannabe. And she isn't very good at all. Pitchy and ick.
The boys weren't too big of a surprise. I suspected Jason Yeager to go eventually, but I didn't expect it this week. I mean, to me, he sings better than some of the ones still there (LUKE) but this is what America did. So, we deal with it. He'll get a deal somewhere. He's got a good voice and he's pretty cute, so he's got the package that he needs.
As for Robbie aka Wig Boy leaving, not a huge shock. He ISN'T a rocker... he wants to be, but he so doesn't have the rocker personality or voice. Nuh-uh.
So, who will go next week? Boys... Luke? Danny? Girls... Kady? Asia'h? Let's hope it's one of those. *crossing fingers*
So there's my take. What's yours? Did the ones you expected to leave, get the boot? Or was it one that you least expected?
UPDATE: Again, Ken Levine, does a fab job on giving his opinion. He cracks me up.

American Idol...
I'm not going to do a recap this week, but if you want what pretty much amounts to my opinions (except for Jason Castro) then go to Amie Stuart's blog. She's got a GREAT recap there. I don't think Luke Menard sucks, but he is more of a Broadway singer, IMO.
Here's the best of the night last night... Enjoy.

American Idol- Girls Night And Predictions
Red- I don't think will make the top 12.
Green- I think should make the top 12.
Girls aren't as good as the guys this year. What's up with that?
- Alaina Whitaker- Song was okay, but she's very good. I think she'll make it.
- Amanda Overmyer- I personally don't like her voice, but then again I didn't like Janis Joplin either.
- Amy Davis- Wrong song. Way wrong. She has the potential to make the top 12... but she needs a better-suiting song.
- Brooke White- She's okay, but I don't think she's strong enough to make the top 12. If by some chance she does, she won't last long. Just not strong enough. Reminds me of the show The Weakest Link. You just want to say, "You are the weakest link. Goodbye." (How mean am I? JEEZ!)
- Joanne Borgella- She's got a good voice. I get mixed emotions about her. She, at times, is one of the better female singers... but at times won't get her there.
- Kristy Lee Cook- So not good. Not top 12 material. I don't think she's ready to be here. Should have been the other one who made it- Carden I think her name was. Liked her better.
- Kady Malloy- She's got a good voice in there somewhere, you can hear it here and there, but I think the song just was wrong for her. Top 12?
- Ramiele Malubay- She's my second favorite. What a voice for such a petite gal. Top two material.
- Syesha Mercado- She's got a great voice, gave it her all, and she rocked it. Top 12 for sure.
- Carly Smithson- My favorite. Natural voice, amazing. Top five at least.
- Asia'h Epperson- Totally dig her. She's got a wonderful personality and she holy smokes can she sing!!! Top 12 for sure.
- Alexandrea Lexington- I really like her. Good voice, very pretty, great personality. She's got it all... and to sing that song as well as she did. Amazing.

American Idol- Boys Night And Predictions
Red- I hope this dude doesn't make the top 12, IMO.
Green- Will more than likely make the top 12, IMO.
- David Hernandez- All good. Liked him a lot. I think he'll make the top 12.
- David Archuleta- This is one talented kid. He's 17 and he IS going to make the top 12.
- Jason Yeager- He did a great job. Really, really great job... especially since he was singing Moon River... stab my eye already why doncha. He made up for it with his voice. Top 12? Possibly, but for how long?
- Danny Noriega- Eww. Horrid. No way this guy makes the top 12 unless he's the one they choose as the "Vote For The Worst" candidate this year (Remember Sanjaya? Nightmare) So bad. *shudder*
- Colton Barry- Another horrid performance. I get that the theme is 60s, right. But, dude. The guy chose Suspicious Minds. Not only did Elvis sing that but Daughtry rocked it when he was on the show. You so can't top that. Not in the top 12.
- Chikezie- Nice job. He came out a little flat, seemed like he was singing too low for his comfort level, but he finished with a bang. Top 12 easily.
- Luke Menard- Not bad to look at but tonight I'd have preferred to have done so with ear plugs. So not good. He won't make the top 12. He will stick around a while though because holy crap he looks like Orlando Bloom! Anyone else think so?
- Garrett Haley- Good God. How did he get in there? No, no, no. No top 12. No.
- Robbie Carrico- He was all right... just okay. Not fab. Not bad. Just okay. Top 12? Possibly. How long will he last in the top 12 is the question.
- Jason Castro- Don't like the hair at all. Corny song(What A Day For A Daydream-- huh? LOL), but he has a GREAT voice and also awesome personality. I like him. Top 12.
- Michael Johns- Holy hell, he so totally rocks. If he can get ME to like a Doors song (Light My Fire) you know he's good. He's gonna be my favorite... I can tell. He's a rocker. Top 12 FOR SURE... my prediction to be in the top 2, and if it were up to me, he'd win. BTW- HE'S HOT. Sizzle. AND with an Australian accent. Whew.
- David Cook- Horrid. What a disappointment. Bummer. He won't make it and I have to pout because I was hoping for more rockers this year.
