Because I love it, Flashpoint is doomed

Srsly. Every great show that is on that we love seems to get cancelled after only a season or two. We know - if we love it? Kiss of death. We don't watch a ton of TV shows. So when something we watch religiously gets cancelled, we take it personally. Here's our proof:

Freaks and Geeks
Sports Night
Boomtown
Line of Fire
Jericho
Jack and Bobby

So if you haven't seen Flashpoint yet? I highly suggest you watch it. It's so well written and acted... everything. I bet it won't be around very long.

How about you? What shows did you absolutely love that got cancelled after only just a season or two?

What an amazing American story... and an amazing talent!

So, Jeff's been watching America's Got Talent. Me, I never watch this stuff. But he pulled me in front of the computer tonight and made me watch this. Wow. Just, wow. This guy has an amazingly uplifting story, and an amazing voice. His name is Kyle Rifkin. Check it out:

Good Stuff Folks...

Okay, I don't watch the news because I hate what's happening out there and the economy scares me. BUT, every single week I watch Real Time With Bill Maher and every week he never fails to entertain me. The best is at the end of the show when he goes through his New Rules. This week was particularly entertaining and just made me grin and laugh because I share his philosophy. If you think the world is fucked up, the race for the presidency is overly dramatic, and that our current president is a dumbass, then watch and be entertained. :-)

One Tree Hill ...

Does anyone else out there think Hailey is acting like a sanctimonious bitch? For the love of Pete, would someone bitch slap her already? Gah!

The Emmys...

Ken Levine had a great review of the Emmys up on his blog. There's only one thing he very briefly mentioned that royally pissed the hell out of me, and that is the Fox cutaway to the disco ball any time someone said something objectionable. Puleeze, folks, whatever happened to the good old-fashioned "bleep"? I found the cutaway so disruptive that it practically ruined the entire show for me. That's why there is a time delay, Fox. Just bleep the word, for crap's sake, and move on. Who cares if we can lip read it? Frankly, I find your Fox news commentators far more objectionable than lip reading a god-damn or a shit here or there.
And to think, I sat through the entire thing waiting to see if Justin Timberlake won for Dick in a Box... not knowing he already won the week before.
If you haven't already seen it, here is the Emmy Winning song of the year...

Blue Smoke on Lifetime...

This was by far the best portrayal of the book out of all the movies shown so far. I was so worried they wouldn't do this one justice as they botched the casting in Angels Fall (Heather Locklear is just too old) and left out characterization and ignored the major romance elements that defined the characters and relationships within Montana Sky. And since Blue Smoke is a fave of mine, I'm going to do a little happy dance. Woo hoo!

Did anyone else notice...

on the Grammy's that none(or at least most) of the winners thanked the fans? WTF? Yeah, we didn't get to vote or anything, but aren't we the ones who butter their bread? Hmm. Just my take. Any opinions?

More on the joke called the Grammy's here on Zeek's blog.

I Was Right.

Heather Locklear so wasn't right for the part of Reece Gilmore in Angels Fall on Lifetime. She's too old and she's not that great of an actress. BUT, the movie was good... perfect adaptation of the book.

Four fabulous books from the awesome Nora Roberts made into movies and it all starts tonight!
