Wow! I'm way too young to be married to an old man like that! Yes, my man to die for is 40 year old. Which means I'm only 2 months behind. Ack!
Where have the years gone? As each year passes, and I realize that I have loved this man and lived with him for more years of my life than not, I'm amazed and awed by the love that we have found and nurtured. What an amazing guy. He is truly the one for me, this man I fell in love with as an 18 year old infant. And as each year goes by, I think he gets more and more handsome and sexy. I love the laugh lines around his eyes that time has drawn. I think there is nothing sexier on a man. Except maybe his great butt. No, I think I'll still have to go with his eyes.
We were dropping my mom off the other night, and my 17 year old nephew and my son walked her to the door. When they came back, they caught us making out. Oops. Says son to nephew, "Oh man, my parents are making out again!." Says nephew back to son, "My parents never do that." What a sad commentary on 1) my sister (the bitch), and 2) my poor nephews have never seen a normal happy man-woman relationship. I'm so glad that my boys will grow up and go into their relationships knowing what a happy one looks like. What it means to support each other through good times and bad. What it means to disagree without fighting. Knowing that compromising doesn't mean giving up your own sense of self. Knowing that you don't always have to be right. And knowing that being happy and satisfied in your personal life can make all the difference in all the other areas of your life as well.
Wow, I didn't mean to get so reflective, but I guess big birthdays can do that to you. So, happy 40th to my amazing, handsome, loving, wonderful, fantastic, sexy, smart, funny husband. Here's to the next 40!

Awww... that's soooo sweet, Lori! Tell Bob, Happy Birthday! I hope he has a great day!
Your words are his ultimate birthday gift. Sigh. Happy Birthday Bob!
Happy belated birthday to your hubby Anne!
It's not as painful as it first seems. *ggg* ;)
I'm late here, but it's wonderful that you and your husband have had so many years together. Marriage is tough isn't it, but if you're willing to work, it is well worth the effort to have that other person be such a wonderful part of your life.
Happy birthday to Lori's Hubby, not Anne's! *g*
