Book Cover Question

I was skimming Amazon in my effort to avoid my daily duties and I came across a bunch of books with absolutely fabulous covers... some from authors I know and others from authors I've never heard of. Based on covers alone, I'd probably buy these books, or at least pick them up from the bookshelf and look at them.

Do you buy or look at books based on their covers?

I am attracted to books if they have a fabulous cover but I don't necessarily buy them unless they can make me forget I'm in a bookstore while I'm reading the first few pages *s*

I also notice books that have fabulous titles.

I rarely am influenced by a cover. I mostly buy from reader reviews/recs and books by authors who I already know I like.

However, seeing these covers gathered together here at least sent me checking out the books. I couldn't get much info on Cameron Dean's books, but I'll be checking them out when they are released.

Also The Nightwalkers JACOB looks promising, whose cover I liked the best.

Wow! I thought I didnt buy books based upon their covers, but maybe I do. Because while all of the covers are lovely, the two Cameron Dean books really caught my eye and interest. So much I plan on googling her name in an attempt to find out more. I guess you learn something about yourself everyday.

I definitely pick up books based on their covers but I don't always buy

I bought In Enemy Hands by Michelle Perry--primarily because I loved the cover. It was a DNF for me. Live and learn.

I'd say that the cover definitely plays a part in whether I buy or not. If it's got an awful cover, I may not even pick it up to take a look. Which isn't fair, I know ~ the author doesn't have anything to do with the cover ~ but there it is.

The cover definitely is a factor in whether I pick up a book to read the OBC, but if the OBC doesn't capture me, then I'll put it down.

Conversely, if the cover is butt ugly, I may not pick it up at all, unless it's by an auto-buy author.

Gorgeous covers, Anne.

BTW, anybody else noticing that the word verification at blogger is getting really long? My eyes are going buggy trying to figure them out. I may have to start commenting from the admin pages LOL.
