Looking for recs...

As you can see from the sidebar, my TBR pile is currently non-existent.

I need recommendations of books you loved. I'm looking mostly for contemporary, as that's the genre I'm currently writing so I'd like to stay in that frame of mind. But if there's something you're just dying to talk about outside of contemporary, I'm open. :-)

So gush away!

I LOVE Toni Blake!!! If you haven't read anything by her, she is great. Tempt Me Tonight is one of my all time favs.

Agree on Toni. Also Erin McCarthy, Jill Shalvis, Julie James and Beth Kery.

Historicals I would say Julie Anne Long and Sherry Thomas. Amazing stuff.

Hi Kate!
I recently read Victoria Dahl's "Talk Me Down" and I thought it was great. The second in the series "Start Me Up" is out now too. Christie Ridgeway is another good one too.

Forget all the rest and go get Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Her books are nice and long and there are already 6 books in the series (some running to 1000 or more pages.) Her stuff is a delight to read and I read some excerpts EVERY day before I write, to help myself stay in a consistent voice. If you want to quickly sample her writing style go to dianagabaldon.com and click on excerpts along the top and then "A Breath of Snow and Ashes."

Wow, great suggestions! Stacy~ I've pretty much devoured Jill Shalvis's stuff - love her! And I'm tickled you recommended Beth Kery! I used to edit for her and love her stuff to death.

I've never read Toni Blake or Victoria Dahl (here Lori is going to gasp, I'm sure, like when I first said I'd never read Shalvis, lol), but I've heard awesome things, so perhaps I'll start there. ;-)

And Alice - thanks for the Gabaldon suggestion! I've hesitating starting hers, mainly because they ARE so long and I'm sort of a series whore and can't stop reading until I've read them all. :-P Perhaps when I get a big chunk of free time...

OK, so I'll send you Wicked Burn (Beth's book - it was great!), and some Dahl, and I think I only have one Toni Blake left in my collection, but I'll send that, too. Oh, and I found an old Shalvis Temptation that I picked up for you for 10 cents :)

On their way! Do NOT talk to Jen, or she'll tell you how long it takes me to mail stuff.
